Ryu Yong Lee (10 out of 10 ) I thought it was the most amazing solo movie that Tom Hanks did! The work he did alone out on the island must be so hard for him. Tom Hanks is a great actor and he is one of my role models, I loved him in The Davinci Code and I absolutely love him in this!
michelle (9 out of 10 ) It was an increadible movie that was so deep with emotion. Tom Hanks did a great job being the center of the spotlight at all times. This is certainly one of his best films to date! It's a gripping transformation of his character through the busy life style to living on an island to being totally independent. It's so hard to see his heart break over and over again.

Tara (8 out of 10 ) It's amazing how far the movie came from this script. It's almost a 70% rewrite. I think the movie was excellent, however after reading this draft I wish it wouldn't have strayed so much. I really liked a lot of things in this copy of the script.
The raft scene in this copy is much longer than the film and the script version of Act III is completely different from the film. I definately would have cut it but I think I would have preferred more of the script version. After being completely alone for 4 years I don't see Chuck spending so much time alone after he gets home like he did in the film.
Overall they were both excellently done.

Bob Shaw (9 out of 10 ) I loved the movie. I especially loved the part after he was saved. I thought he and Helen were great together. I would have much rather seen the ending written here now that i have read it. I have always thought it would have been a better ending if after he saw the artist turn and go down the dusty road to her home that he would turn and follow her and we see then both going down the same road...thus a new beginning
Ronnie (10 out of 10 ) Superb! I have to say that reading this version of the films script made me see the character in a whole nother light. During the film that was a lot that was unsaid, and getting his inner dialect was extremely helpful. The raft scene in the script was amazing, they really could have added some of that to the film.
Emma (7 out of 10 ) I watched this movie for the first time last week end. It's so sad I feel truly sorry for him when his best Friend Wilson pasts away. I love this movie.
marcarchaz (10 out of 10 ) Bob Shaw- he did choose the road with the artist, I charted it. Also, both had morning light. Ie: fed ex pick-up same day, and at the end he was back on that schedule sort of. The crossroads shown at the start, and the crossroads shown at the end and the island in the middle of nowhere is one of the most important metaphors in the movie. It was a new beginning, and driving alone in the middle of nowhere with no plans is a pretty realistic in-character thing to do. He no longer liked crab for sure! Also the soliloquy with the drink in is hand at his friends after leaving Kelley with her family is very similar to the one he said on the phone to the shrink in Chicago in Sleepless in Seattle. That's why I'm here, to look them both up.. Keep breathing. Cast Away is an excellent movie. Saw the first time in theater in Bellinghamm, Washington when it first came out while attending my nieces wedding. Very memorable week. Hanks won best actor for Philadelphia and Saving Private Ryan. But this was a possibility too. Must have been a tough year. Sure that he was nominated.
A0 (10 out of 10 ) Cast Away was a great movie, but the ending was so sad when Tom Hanks loses his only friend Wilson at the end, but then gets rescued and finally gets to see his wife again after so many years of being missing.
